Excellence is not simply a platitude at Creative Learning Child Care. It is the primary motivating goal for our daily care and for our educational mission. Enriching lesson plans that focus on interesting themes, motor skills, and self-confidence building along with daily written and verbal communications which keep parents apprised of their child’s activities, are but two of the practices that underwrite this quest. We are constantly refining our educational program to encompass the developmental needs of each child through helping the children embrace the theory that “learning is fun”. Most importantly, a child’s development level is an intrinsic ingredient in our classroom structure.
At Creative Learning Childcare, infants and babies are cared for in a completely separate nursery that is divided by age group of the child, including a separate cradle room for newborns. Because an infant’s care and needs are unique to each individual child, it will be necessary to discuss details such as feeding, clothing, and bedding with the director and the staff members caring for your infant at the time of enrollment. We encourage lunch time visits and suggestion from parents in an effort to make our infant room as comfortable as your home. In order to ensure the best care for your infant, you will be provided with an “All About Me” paper to fill out regarding your infant’s feeding schedule, how your child likes to be held, favorite cuddly toys, etc. This provides our staff with a better understanding for the child and will help to make the transition a lot smoother.
Our toddlers are offered a variety of opportunities to explore their world through play. Gross motor skills and social skills are developed through both structured and unstructured play. Their days are filled with music, art, dance, storytime and more.
Although it may seem like fun and games to preschoolers, their curriculum is packed with educational elements. Games abound that teach pre-reading skills like phonemic awareness and letter and sound recognition; basic math concepts; and hands-on science exploration.
School-age children are given a quiet environment for homework and projects, with tutoring/assistance as needed. Also available to elementary students are crafts, games, snacks, and physical activities. Transportation is provided to Grandview Elementary, Tracy Elementary, Asbury, and Our Lady of Peace. This service includes optional care for school holidays during the regular school year.
Our certified teachers, who are trained to direct children’s behavior along appropriate channels, prevent boredom and subsequent problems with small group interactions. When a problem does occur, the child is encouraged to take a break from the activity and “regroup”. Once the child has calmed him/herself down, they are encouraged to rejoin the group.
Because our staff spends a great deal of time every day with the children, they are able to notice both subtle and dramatic changes in a child’s behavior. When these changes appear, our teachers utilize several methods to affect a positive reversal. They will conference with the parents to work on a solution together and are aware of outside resources to help the child, the parents, and the staff work towards positive measures in all areas of development.
